An initial glance at Bamet is a little confusing, if you don't know your birds. I don't. He's purple with a little gold in the feathers, and off-white armor. I have no idea what kind of real-world bird he's supposed to be.
Despite being one of the less-interesting creatures, Bamet has some of the best deco. The shiny paint around his beak really makes his face pop. A little green dot on each shoulder, combined with the gold on the armor, helps give him a little added heft that was lacking from his "Burst" clear figure release. As deco goes, you won't see a lot better from the first wave of Beast Saga figures last year.
His weapons have been reused on a couple of other releases so far, Rynas, and the clear version of Bamet. They're all pretty much the same in person, so there's nothing too excitable here. The lance looks pretty good, and the shield, well, I don't get why you would want holes in it. But I guess it must make the shield go faster or something. Articulation is normal for these guys, with jointed shoulders and hips. The hip movement is pretty worthless, but the arms can rotate pretty freely to help set up some nifty action poses. The dice launcher in the chest is par for the course, as it seems the same mechanism is in every figure.
If you're collecting them all, Bamet is worth the money. Heck, all of these guys are arguably worth the five bucks given what a dollar gets you at the toy store these days. It's a quality figure, but all of these guys are about as good as your love of the creature they represent. Me, I'm not a bird guy. But I'm sure the bird internet will love this one, as it is a quality figure.
