New York's American International Toy Fair February 12-16, 2011

Welcome to New York! For presumably at least 10,000 years, American International Toy Fair has taken over New York City around Valentine's Day weekend. While primarily an industry event, companies like Hasbro, LEGO, and Mattel have recently started reaching out to fan media and the press in a way which means you don't necessarily need to be buying thousands of dollars of product for your store if you want a get a meeting. (For the record, I do both.)

Over the coming days, I'll be posting my findings for those of you lucky enough to not be trudging between meetings in the cold. (Good for you.) I'll be talking with Diamond Select Toys, Funko, Mezco Toyz, and many others-- let's see what kind of trouble we can find, shall we?

Keep checking back on this page for the next few days, as I'll be adding news and pictures (and stories!) as life and time permits.

Some highlights: NECA got Iggy Pop and will be making at least one action figure. Jazwares will be doing a 4-inch Street Fighter line with incredible detail. Funko will be doing 2 members of The Ramones in various formats. Hasbro will be making The G.I. Joe Skystriker vehicle and will also make a Comic-Con Starscream variant. All this and more will be posted as soon as I can edit the photos and articles!
