This Series 5 Defender Cyclonus has a lot of new bits, but after reviewing a few dozen of these you kind of know the drill - they're roughly the size of old Battle Beasts. They have about 14 ball joints. They're cheap. With few exceptions you'll be pretty pleased with these guys if you like the character. Scourge is one of few I found lacking because of his beard and arm blast over time. Sure, it's not bad, but don't you want the guy to look sort of like the guy on the comic, or cartoon, or toy? Cyclonus does a good job of giving you something that covers a few of the bases.

Cyclonus features the same one-size-fits-most body type with the appropriate modifications. The head, torso, wing backpack, and shoulders are new parts. The blaster, hands, and everything else appear to be shared with multiple other figures. Thanks to the somewhat boxy cartoon designs, it all works really well. Robot fists, thighs, and forearms don't need quite as much variation as the other parts. The stuff that looks like it's from a space ship all works out pretty well, and I'm particularly glad they kept the wing backpack. I probably would have left it off to save money and just slapped some winglets on the shoulder pylons.
Coloring is very similar to the Super Collection Figure or the main page at the Wiki, with sightly purpler forearms and slightly bluer everything else. The blaster is gray, and shared with many figures across the line. His chest has a lot of printed bits, plus sculpted lines and indentations to look more like the cartoon with a hint of the toy. His head mostly looks like the cartoon or comic, except for the forehead. Blokees really put a dent there, and I was just expecting it to be a simple line. The designers did an exceptional job cramming the orange trapezoid and the belly hexagon in that tiny torso, even if the former is kind of hard to see at some angles.
Some of these don't have a lot to criticize. It's kind of the cartoon model, the colors are kind of like the Kingdom toy, and it's a really good deal in 2026. If they sold this thing for the same price 20 or 30 years ago, it would still be a bargain. Series 5 hasn't s haped up to be my very favorite collection, but it's certainly good enough and has a lot going for it for those who are looking for cartoon-specific characters to build out a collection. Also this is a perfectly nice pull, so grab it or the case. I doubt you'll regret it.
