Because I photograph things as I open them, I'm a little behind on some things. I plucked Thundercracker Vehicle from Blokees out of a box and it's really something. It's only six parts - it's simple. You can put it together in seconds. To make up for its simplicity, Blokees put more deco on it.
I assume this exists - along with Bumblebee - to save Blokees a few bucks. It's simple, there's no articulation, and the bottom of the jet is completely unpainted. The top looks amazing, with an orange caopy, purple Decepticon symbols, and many of the vents and panels you may remember being stickers back in the 1980s. You don't have to sticker anything, they pre-printed it all for you. It's also a bit over 2 1/2-inches long, so it's a decent size. The cannons mount to the side of the undercarriage kibble, not the wings, resulting in a fairly decent looking little jet. I assume the design was made to be somewhat modular so they can make Thrust or Ramjet by only repurposing some of the pieces.
The only thing I don't like about this vehicle is it isn't obviously fun. The Optimus Prime truck is basically a little scooter. Bumblebee has a big jointed cannon. Scavenger is an arm for Devastator. A Seeker Jet doesn't have an obvious hook, but at least it looks cool.
Given there's a robot mode Thundercracker in this very set, you might not feel getting the jet to be essential. I bought the case, the price was right, I'm not complaining. There's a little port in the bottom of the jet for a display stand, but none are included (or exist, as far as I know.) I'd still recommend getting the case, and I'd still say this toy is impressive for what it is. You can see where the money was spent to maximize how to make it look its best, and it really does look good. What will I do with it? I don't know yet. Maybe I can 3D print a flight stand?
