I love SG-Jetfire, and also my paranoia kicked in after examining it. I love that it's a cheap, small version of a toy I skipped that was $100. I adore that they give it a reversible helmet, much like a lot of Glyos and some Power Lords. I am not so sure about the swirly plastic. It looks shark, but there have been reports of metallic swirly chase crumbles in Blokees land and goodness knows Gold Plastic Syndrome, a.k.a. GPS, has claimed many a good toy.

Just barely over two inches tall, this metallic gray figure is one of those good/annoying chase figures. It's good because... well, look at it. It's bad because it took the place of the standard Jetfire in my case, so I need to decide if I want to buy Plain Jetfire on eBay or buy another case and roll the dice.

Assuming it doesn't shatter, I really like this figure. The metallic gray color really sizzles, the purple metallic paint cooks, the lighter silver feet look great too. The green on the chest and back are no slouch, and you can't deny the red eyes behind the visor look great. The impressive cockpit/wing backpack has a lot of decoration on it, plus two backpack holes. It looks great - and is the only deco you'll see on the back of the figure.

The front of the figure is loaded with purple bits and a lot of fake sculpted detail in the form of white lines. The fake depth isn't fooling anyone, like when you said something was Kafka-esque in your 20s, but at a glance it works. There's a teeny evil purple Autobot symbol on top of the chest, and I appreciate the vents are uniquely decorated. The most impressive choice on this figure was to give fans two faces on one head. You can see the "Skyfire" cartoon face on one side, rotate it, and get a masked-up quasi-"toy" face on the other. I assume this means that somewhere, Matt Doughty sees this, smiles approvingly, and vanishes into the night. And if he doesn't have that power, clearly I don't know the man.

Jetfire also has a fairly nice blaster. It's the same color as the body, but it also shines in the right light and has a lot of sculpted detail bits. It's good. You won't dislike it.

I need to get my hands-on time with this one early - or get the plain one - just in case time is unkind to it. It's a gorgeous toy and it makes me think I need to chase down the other SG guys. This is annoying, because at least Jetfire and Bumblebee have the chase figure occupy the same slot as the regular version. Blokees hire crafty people, because this may make me buy more cases than I want. They're good figures, and because I love Battle Beasts-sized little guys I'm probably going to cave. I recommend these guys, especially since it saved me the regret of not buying Hasbro's $100 Pulse-exclusive version of Shattered Glass Jetfire.
