I've picked up a lot of Onell Design Glyos figures and haven't opened as many of them as I should. This Crayboth Krakenite stood on my desk in a bag for months, and not because it's a bad figure. It's part of a proud tradition, and there are hundreds of these little crabby guys now. At one point I was planning to go all-in and get every last one, but after a while I realized it wasn't going to end. That's the one danger of collecting a not-dead toy line. Where will it go? It's hard to say. Would you predict Onell Design would be making figures decades longer than that which inspired it? It's a remarkable system of figures with tiny runs and loyal fans, and not a heck of a lot on eBay. That's bad if you want this specific creature. But if you want a Crayboth, there are many of them and new ones come out every wave or three. They're neat.

The arms and legs pop off, and can be swapped with pretty much any other Glyos system compatible part. That's good! They're sized similarly to Blokees Defender-class toys or Hasbro's old Battle Beasts, roughly 1 1/2-inches tall. They look sort of like a crab mixed with Mega Man, and in this case colored like some translucent sea life. The core plastic is a clear almost colorless pink. The figure has red on his eyes and blaster-esque arm, with metallic pink on the upper arms and legs plus toes and fingers. You could probably have it scampering around in the bottom of your aquarium and it would fit right in.

You can pop it apart and swap limbs with other figures, or leave it as it is. It still holds up well given its age, and I can't name many other action figures that have been in production - albeit in a new color - for this long. The sculpt is still nice, the joints are still mostly tight, and the details look just fine in this clear plastic. As it's not based on commercial IP I have to recommend it on its own strengths as a nifty, original (if aging) design that doesn't seem too out of place with most sci-fi figures and toys. You might have to use your imagination a bit, but you could see them off-panel in an old Marvel Star Wars comic or perhaps menacing He-Man by the horde. Sadly you can't buy them by the bucket, but you get the idea.
I'd still love to see a second Onell Design mold in this size. They've done so well over the years that it would be a blast to see a companion. What might an anti-Crayboth look like? Could a little robot or perhaps some sort of other mutant exist with these proportions? I sure hope so. It's a fun figure and it would be neat to see a "versus pack" someday. Until then, there is an army of these guys to collect if you have the patience, constitution, and funds. Or, six bucks for a little guy in 2025 is a much more reasonable thing and I'd recommend anyone who's never bought Glyos to be sure to get one of these early on. They're fun enough that you'll probably want to check out the other bigger stuff too. If you never have heard of any of these guys, check out onell.store and toyfinity.store to see what's in stock and spend $30-$50 and give 'em a try. I used to say "$20" but inflation's a monster.
