He was like C-3PO, but not. Defender Perceptor has colors that match my memories of the one I played with at my friend's house, but with the cartoon head, and a chest similar to the Target-exclusive Studio Series 86 version.

As with other figures, there are several shared parts. The lower arms, hands, thighs, feet, lower waist, and back lower legs all seem to be frequently reused elements. The blaster is similar to one used with other figures, but now in red.

Putting him together is a lot like a flipped Soundwave. The shoulder-mounted cannon is on the other side, but it's a new part. Articulation remains good, with the only real snag being the blaster hindering the arm's movement. It gets in the way. Everything is pretty fantastic. The chest deco gives the figure most of what it needs, with a little paint on the face bringing out a few key details in glossy gray. While I wouldn't have minded a little detail on the shoulder scope, it's not like it's realistic at this price point. What you get is particularly nice for a figure that costs less than a Coke at a typical fast food place.

The construction is similar to everything else, so there's not much room for highlighting some previously unseen amount of awesomeness. It's good - the colors are bright and the face has a lot of personality. He can hold his blaster, and stands nicely. You'll like it.

I assume we got Percy due to his role in the movie, rather than on season 2 of the cartoon. He goes well with Hot Rod and friends, and that team is slowly being built out. I'd say you should snag this one, it's real nice.
