From a concept by fan Gabriel Mangum, who seems to be hte model too, Operation Recall Breacher & Hellhound brings you a *checks notes* forced entry expert and his dog. That just sounds dirty.
A desert version is coming, but this (I assume) urban camo version came first. It is very glossy in person, but is otherwise surprisingly charming. The eyes and beard are painted nicely. The hat is a little rubbery, and the stitching came in a little subtle, but otherwise I'd say everything about this figure turned out nicely.

This guy has a stand, a dog, and two firearms. The weapons have sharp sculpts and feel more or less like a classic G.I. Joe accessory, minus the added paint on the grenade launcher. The dog departs from vintage pooches by the addition plenty of paint plus a jointed neck. (My Law and Order reissue set from 2000 did add a lot of paint, though.)
I am not a military toy collector, but I do love retro action figures and things that can get a little goofy. G.I. Joe had wrestlers, football players, and street fighters while they fought snake-themed Cobra... who would employ genetic mutants, S&M enthusiasts, and whatever Raptor was doing. The line just got so out and out silly (and great) as time went on, and Operation: Recall seems to split the difference. Breacher is just a guy, with a backward hat, complete with the A.T.L.A.S. symbol. As the line's first (and in wave one, only) good guy his desaturated costume and snarling dog packaging art look significantly more aggressive than a lot of other heroes. If you said he was a bad guy, I'd believe you - he's kicking in a door.
F e has Batman-like sharp bits on his forearms, body armor, grenades on his leg, and looks like he could easily modified to be a bad guy. The YouTube updates on this mold showed plans for alternate helmeted heads, so if you don't like this particular flavor maybe you should wait for the desert retool. Or just get the pigeon guy, he looks more colorful and wacky as opposed to a straightforward military modern man like this. It's a very good representation of what it aspires to be, and I appreciate that they put in the pooch to balance what otherwise seems like a pretty harsh guy.
He has no real problems holding his gear thanks to his swivel wrists. Hellhound doesn't have a leash, but does have a jointed neck, painted paws, and is carrying around grenades on his back. The dog has no real accessory of his own, but there's a handle on his back - and Breacher can get his hand in there if he bends down a bit. I appreciate the animal interactivity, especially since it doesn't require another piece like a leash I might lose.
Articulation is mostly on par with classic rubber-banded figures, except the added wrists and a design that blocks the waist from pivoting much. The waist rotates easily, but there are huge pouches that get in the way of bending at the waist.
After a three year production period, they made a pretty great figure. The hands are a little modern, the shine is a bit much, but otherwise it feels a lot like a new old o-ring guy. That's kind of wonderful. He fits in my old vehicles, and I assume will be more interesting to people that have some old The Corps or G.I. Joe toys and want to expand that army rather than totally new people wanting to start a 1:18 military kick. I wouldn't have bought this figure were it not part of a larger line, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with the engineering. It's just not a weird character, but it's a charming form factor... for something you wouldn't want to see anywhere near your front door.
