Part of a combiner in the making, this Swindle Vehicle is also a perfectly nice toy unto itself. The not-licensed Jeep-ish vehicle was also made as a Blokees Wheels toy at roughly the same time, so you've got options. This one is more squat and cute, the other one is more realistic like a Matchbox car. They cost about the same, and I would say the Wheels version is significantly fancier for roughly the same price.

The not-Jeep is molded in the standard brownish yellow plastic with some black bits. The wheels are all black, the three-piece cannon connects easily, and you can fold down the faux windshield. There are no clear elements here - it's just an open frame.

Sculpted fairly simply, there are a lot of flat panels here. The interior has some detailing on the seats, but it's generally not remotely fancy. If it weren't for the luxe printing on the hood, it might even pass for an actual 1980s toy kit from candy or something. In addition to a glossy purple hood, Blokees printed on a bumper, headlights, and a few other details. They did a great job, and I would almost say it's so good that it seems like overkill for a part destined to be a leg on a bigger robot.

As someone who fawned over pull-back Zoids from Tomy in the 1980s, the quasi-Choro-Q-ness of this vehicle charms me to no end. There's not much to it, and its only real shortcoming is coming out long after I was a child in a marketplace absolutely crowded with Swindles. We've got another one coming in a few months from Hasbro, too. I'm not complaining, but it does continue to highlight the absolute wealth of riches bestowed upon us for this property right now. If you want a Swindle, you're spoiled for choice - and I would absolutely say this is a good one. You can get better ones, but this one has a distinct style and unique aesthetic that none of the other ones will likely ever share. Like retro-style toys, these little Blokees toys are likely to occupy their own niche and will likely be difficult to really improve upon at this size. (Unless we start to see more reissues with deluxe paint jobs, which we are seeing with chases.)
