Given time and inflation, Onell Design manages to keep most of its stuff surprisingly affordable. Pheyden Prime was $12 in 2023, only $2 more than a similar 2019 Pheyden Regeneration figure. And for that $2, you got stuff - this figure is effectively similar with slightly different paint applications, and a vest, and some pins, and a scarf, and a blaster hand. That's $2 well spent.

The 2 3/4-inch figure seems to be the same light blue plastic as the 2019 release, with a similar glossy gray. What's interesting are some minor changes - his guy has painted shoulders, the other guy had painted everything else. This guy has fully painted shoes, the other one had painted soles. The head had a scar and the chest had a line of the last one, this one has a painted belt. There are a bunch of minor changes, but it's effectively very much the same figure with a similar deco budget. The white Pheyden tampo on the shoulder is a nice new addition.
The vest has some painted elements, and is unique to the set. You can pop the arms or hands off and slide it on, and he can wear it with the scarf if you like. You can also swap his hand for a blaster with a painted gray element. If you like to fidget with figures and configure things, it's a good value. The only downside is you have to find a place to store all the parts, and unless you're a big builder you might not have any use for the rice-sized switch pins which allow you two connect some Glyos parts that might not normally link.
If you have a Pheyden at home, the core figure is unchanged other than coloration. The big feet are super sturdy, the arms and hands all swivel nicely, and it's the kind of thing I remain quasi-annoyed I can't just buy in a store. It's a sturdy indie toy, designed for adults, but it generally feels more like an actual toy than a lot of what gets sold to us these days. It doesn't hurt that the core design is from 2007, and just keeps selling year after year.

While waiting for my Infinite Pheyden Standard I went and dug out some of my unopened guys - like this one - to be ready to shoot some pictures. The colors look like they might match well, and it's interesting to see how Matt Doughty and friends took a great figure and bulked it up with a scarf and a vest, only to later really bulk it up with a massive new body. With larger figures as of late, I'm looking forward to seeing if we'll be getting more "giants" in Glyos to go with the new guys or if we'll go back down to the 2 3/4-inch scale that's worked for almost 20 years. Either way the stuff is good, and good luck finding it as these low-run guys tend to sell out rather fast. They don't show up on eBay much so be prepared to trade, cajole, bribe, or pray for the reissue that won't be happening.
