Hasbro, Funko Iron Man 2 Released

MarvelIron Man 2Between Wal-Mart, Target, and Toys "R" Us we've seen product out since about February 12, but today is the actual real official street date for the Iron Man 2 product line. (Proof once again nobody cares about non-Star Wars shelf dates.) Happy hunting!

DC Universe vs. MOTU Packs Out Already

Masters of the UniverseAlso FastWhile only leaked a few weeks ago (and just confirmed in New York), it seems a lucky poster on He-Man.org has already found and bought these unique figure sets. You get He-Man vs. Superman or Skeletor vs. Lex Luthor, each for $29.99 with a full-sized comic reprint-- arguably, a good price. Just a baffling combination really. If nothing else, it's still about on par with the Matty Collector pricing, except you get more stuff for the same price.

Transformers War for Cybertron Gameplay Impressions Out

TransformersSoundwaveBefore you buy the new toys in Hasbro's Transformers Generations range, Activision want to sell you this new game, which Joystiq played. Supposedly it's due in May and looks really sharp-- the character designs are great, although Transformers games are notoriously spotty, and by spotty we mean bad.

Larry Sanders Complete coming to DVD

DVDThe Larry Sanders ShowLet's try to keep this straight: last year, Shout Factory released the complete It's Garry Shandling's Show on DVD. A few years ago, we saw two releases for his other series, The Larry Sanders Show-- a best-of and a season 1.

According to TVShowsOnDVD.com, the HBO Sanders show is also going to get the Shout Factory treatment. Hooray! We think.

Nintendo Wii Downloads This Week: Mega Man 10 and Things That Aren't

WiiAwesomeYour friend and ours, the delightful Jeremy Parish, posted a review of the Wii port of Mega Man 10. PSN and XBLA ports are coming later this month. Not surprisingly, Capcom outlined DLC for the game which includes playable Bass and some other modes. The DLC starts hitting in April.

Also available are these things which are not Mega Man 10 and therefore unfortunately dead to us: Dart Rage and Happy Hammerin'.

Virtual Console fans, it's Fatal Fury Special which sort of almost celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Neo-Geo.

Nintendo DSi Downloads This Week: Four More

Nintendo DSFlips: Terror in Cubicle FourGot a DSi? This week: Flips: Terror in Cubicle Four, Globulos Party, Let's Golf, and VT Tennis. These range from $5 to $8.

"Flips" is a storybook more than a game, and while the picture may look like tentacle rape waiting to happen, Nintendo's description says otherwise. "There's something strange going on with the loo in cubicle four of the girl's toilet. It's spewed green goo on Stacey's shoes and almost had year-seven new boy, James, for lunch. Can he and his friends, Alexander and Lenny, flush out the cause of the trouble, or will the terrifying toilet plague the school with problems forever?"

At retail (and arguably notable given the name of this site) is Sonic Classic Collection, which basically gives you the same game content as Sonic Jam-- the first 3 Genesis games plus Sonic & Knuckles. It's $30 and does allow for "lock-on" gameplay.

1986 Hasbro Toy Fair Catalog Transformers Pages Scanned

TransformersAlternate HistoryA rarely-seen Pre-Toy Fair catalog has been posted to the great TFWiki.net showcasing alternate deco, label-free designs, and more-or-less mock-ups for some of the first "new" Transformers ever made. (Remember, the first few years were culled from existing Japanese toy lines.) Highlights include very different combiner teams, Hot Rod with clear windows, and other oddities like this slightly different Wheelie.

Toy Soldiers for the Xbox 360 Live Arcade Released

Xbox Live ArcadeToy SoldiersXbox 360 owners, it's time for Toy Soldiers, a strategy game where you control toys from a toy box. It seems someone out there really understands us, what with LEGO Star Wars and now this. We'd also like to push for a game based on the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures, but we digress. Toy Soldiers is $15/1,200 points and is supposedly exclusive to the platform.

Devo Has a New Song, Fred Schneider a New Band

WiiWe're All DevoThe boys from Devo threw up a splash page with a new song called "Fresh" which, unsurprisingly, sounds a lot like Devo. Since you can hear the whole thing for free, you might as well.

Also, frontdude of the B-52s Fred Schneider has yet another side project called The Superions. They put out an EP, and so far it looks like they have a grand total of three songs plus remixes. It's no "Just Fred" but really, what is?

LEGO Minifigure Display Case, Polybagged Kingdoms Revealed

LEGOIs that a stewardess?Since it wasn't mentioned in previous Toy Fair coverage, we were a little surprised to see the LEGO Minifigure Collectors Box at LEGO.com yesterday. It has a handle and 15 compartments to store figures for about $15, which, in theory, seems neat. But who has only 15 figures to show off? If this thing had an exclusive figure, though, odds are we'd cave in.

Also new and notable are Kingdoms sets #30061 and #30062, which seem to be two presumably polybagged sets. We don't know when these are officially hitting (or where) but they sure look like Q4 items in Target's holiday section for stocking stuffers. If this is the case, we'll probably score both.

Mega Man 9 HD Fan Remix, Castlevania, After Burner

Video GamesGalactic DefinitionYou probably heard of the fan-made Mega Man 9 HD remake but if you haven't, that video is a pretty swell showing of a redrawn, reworked for 16x9 displays, recomposed game. The art loses a lot of its charm in high definition, but it's still a stunning example of a fan project in this space.

Also, The Magic Box posted screens of Sega's After Burner Climax coming soon to PSN and XBLA. Kinda neat, we guess. The same site posted Castlevania: Lords of Shadow images which, frankly, aren't doing it for us at all.

MusicMan or Astro-ReunionHow excited are we? It's our top story, that's how excited.

Music archive Southern Shelter posted a live reunion show from Man or Astro-Man and it's really good. The sound quality is great and the songs are essentially all of their best works (although we'd like more from 1000X) and best of all, it's a free download. Deluxe Editions (plural) of "Raw Power" Coming

MusicIggyIf you've never heard it, Iggy & The Stooges' album "Raw Power" is one of the best you can buy. Ever. Other bands wish they could make an album like this and can't. It's pretty legendary, because of scores of amazing unreleased material from this time period, alternate mixes, and all sorts of amazing stories, legends, and egg-throwing. Taking a cue from Warner's speciality labels, Sony announced pre-orders for Legacy and Deluxe editions of the album which includes the original David Bowie mix and not the Iggy Pop mix from the 1990s. And bonus tracks. And a live show. And if you buy the more expensive version, knick-knacks and other stuff. Arguably worth your attention if you are in to such things.

Star Wars Figure of the Day Updated

Galactic Hunter & Star Wars NewsTrinto DuabaFigure of the Day has updated once again! The daily feature on figures you might have but might not-- either way, here's what you've been missing! Spanning from the original Power of the Force series of 1995 to the latest of The Legacy Collection, it's almost like a history lesson!

Today we look at the Trinto Duaba figure from last year. He came with a second figure, and both are actually quite good for the asking price! Go to Figure of the Day for the next update, with the latest installment in our ongoing series!

Hey kids, it's time for Hasbro Q&A! We sent in two questions, and we got back a couple of responses. Here they are:

Q: The new Vintage figures look great, right down to the Kenner logo and original non-J hook to hang the figures by on a peg. This raises the question, will the figures be manufactured with the little black cardboard thing that needs to be punched-out or will the figures come from the factory pre-punched? (We may have to try to get figures before they hit the pegs if they're unpunched from the factory.)

A: It's something we were asked quite a lot about at Toy Fair, and we are looking into whether we can make the punch "shallow" enough that a good number could make it to retail in the cases. However, if there's a chance that this could damage any packages when retailers put them on the peg (tearing the litho of the card, for instance) then we won't be able to do this.

Q: In 2004, the good souls at Hasbro let fans vote on the final figure in the original OTC assortments, which was a nice repainted rerelease of the then-tough-to-get Imperial Scanning Trooper. (That was awesome.) What are the chances you can bring back this to Fan's Choice-- give us a selection of 5 or so figures to rerun on a vintage card that you were considering from the "parking lot," so we can buy it on the new fancy packaging were we so inclined? (Because you know, vintage Yak Face [even on a ROTJ card] would be totally awesome.)

A: We admit that the announcement of the Vintage cards does cast a new light on the Fans' Choice vote that just wrapped; nostalgia could have an even greater motivating factor knowing that the figure will appear on a Vintage card. It's an interesting suggestion and we'll think about it. Thanks.

Hasbro's Temple of Doom Figures Return, to eBay, Cheaply

Indiana JonesTear his heart out!Did you miss Willie Scott, Short Round, Mola Ram, and the others when the line up and died in 2008? You're not alone. It seems either old stock (or perhaps new stock) is surfacing in Asia of loose Indiana Jones figures in lots of 6-10 figures for, seemingly, reasonable prices. We aren't going to endorse this or point out any as we do not know ourselves the origins of these figures, but hey, just a heads-up for those in the market for such things.

Microsoft on Xbox 360 USB Support

Xbox 360USB SupportIn a bit of news that's actually a little stunning, Microsoft will be allowing USB support of storage on its Xbox 360 console in a few weeks. In a market where more and more manufacturers seem intent on locking down consumers and forcing the purchase of branded, licensed goods, this is pretty shocking.

Less shocking is that there's a storage cap-- you're only allowed to use 2 16 gigabyte devices total. Still, not bad, particularly if you don't yet have a hard drive.
