Comic-Con International in San Diego, CA July 11-15, 2012
A tale of two Diamonds! Diamond as a company is so big, they have two booths. One is Diamond Select, which manufactures toys and statues and Battle Beasts and other wonderful things. The other is Diamond Distribution, which puts out Previews every month and basically distributes comics to every shop in the country. They distribute tons of toys, including some really nifty imports. Eaglemoss will be putting out James Bond's car as a weekly kit, in which you will ultimately build an incredibly ornate 1:6 scale Aston Martin DB5. There will be 90 sets at about $20 per, and each has engines, doors, windows, tiny screws, and all the makings of a replica automobile. Eaglemoss may best me known for collectible magazines with metal or lead figures from Star Wars, Buffy, and other properties. In terms of size, ambition, and pure balls, there was nothing more fascinating at the show.
