Diamond Select Toys Minimates Figures and Collectibles April 14-15, 2012

Make Mine Minimates! Diamond Select Toys showed tons of the little guys C2E2, including The Expendables, Marvel, and the new Battle Beasts.

The biggest news of the show for toy fans may have been those Battle Beasts, which has been something like four or five years in the making. Diamond gave away two Minimates figures, a poster, a comic book, and I think that's it-- you can check out all the details of this particular line here. No figures were on display, but a clear red Vorin figure was given out daily, and a grey opaque figure was given out to dealers, so says my magical abacus.

The Minimates line, which is now well beyond 1,000 figures, continued with Marvel vs. Capcom 2, The Amazing Spider-Man, and other extensions. The Toys R Us Exclusive Knight Rider KITT with Michael Knight looks like another winner, and the continued Halo and new Walking Dead lines should help keep this amazing little line chugging along for years to come.

We were also informed that this is probably going to be it for Halo-- there are no plans for Halo 4.
